- Your message, and the animal or listing you are asking about, including quantity.
- Details about an animal you want to sell, if you use the Sell With Us form.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry and help you buy or sell an animal.
- To send you a copy of your message by email.
- To prepare paperwork such as a bill of sale when a sale goes ahead.
- To protect buyers and sellers from fraud and misuse of the site.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not send marketing emails you did not ask for.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site:
- Website hosting (Vercel).
- Database and photo storage (Neon).
- Email delivery (Resend and Zoho Mail).
These providers only process your information to provide their service to us. We may also share information when the law requires it, or with the other party to a sale (for example, the buyer's name on a bill of sale) when you agree to go ahead with a purchase.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and keep proper sale records, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Keeping your information safe
The site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to stored inquiries is password protected. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please never send card numbers, bank passwords or other sensitive financial details through our forms or by email.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email info@highlandcattlemarket.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have extra rights under local law, and we will honor them.
